Add Proof To Make Your eBay Item Stand Out

  Most people are naturally skeptical of advertising claims. Therefore, any evidence you can supply that helps verify those claims can only help you.


Problem is... with most products on the market, proof is supplied in the form of customer testimonials. If you're selling odds and ends, it may be difficult to prove the validity of any claims you might make. But there are ways to add proof to your listings for many items.

If you're selling books, dust jackets and back covers are often laden with testimonials from people in the know. You can simple choose a few of these and use them verbatim, will full credit of course. Search Amazon reviews not just for books but for consumer products of all kinds. It's possible you may just find suitable fodder for your ad copy.

If you sell products in a particular niche, start a file for product reviews you stumble upon. Search online for others. If a giant in your industry recommended a product and now you have it for sale, by all means, tell your audience who else recommended this product and what they had to say about it. Commentary from well-respected experts or authority figures in any niche market can be a powerful ally to your selling adventures of similar products on eBay.

Is your product advertised on television... or was it at one time? Be sure to mention it with the clearly understood designation, As Seen On TV. If you're selling health supplements, find a doctor who's already recommended the product and use what they said about it to back up your own sales message.

What you're doing is adding credibility and believability to your message and the more effective you are at it, the more successful you'll be in selling on eBay.

Another strategy is to incorporate your actual Feedback comments into your Item Description. Feedback reveals more about you as a seller than it does about your product. But in my experience, people often comment on the information products I sell -- so this feedback actually provides double duty. By endorsing the product, they're in effect telling others that what they got was worth what they paid. And by leaving positive feedback, they're also implying that the seller is someone who can be trusted.

Always look for ways to add an element of proof to your listings. The more impressive the element of proof, the more likely it is to pay a handsome dividend.
